Many people seek therapy because they are overwhelmed by emotional pain, confusion, or patterns they cannot seem to change. Traditional therapy can bring a lot of value in terms of support, insight, and symptom management. It can genuinely help people understand themselves and function better in their everyday lives.

But when it comes to deep trauma and long held emotional pain, the mind can only reach so far. Insight alone does not unwind what the body has been holding for years. You can understand something fully and still feel stuck in the same patterns.

Somatic trauma healing works differently.

Instead of trying to manage or fix symptoms, we work directly with the underlying emotional and somatic material itself. This is where real healing happens.

Why Traditional Approaches Often Don’t Go Deep Enough

Most traditional therapy uses a top down method. It starts with thoughts, beliefs, and stories, hoping that shifts at the mental level will eventually reach the emotional level. Even approaches that claim to go deeper often stay focused on the symptoms rather than the pain that produces them.

This is not a failure of therapy. It is a misunderstanding built into our culture about how healing actually works.

Trauma is not stored in thoughts- it is stored in the body.

It lives in the nervous system, in patterns of contraction, in emotions that were never able to be fully felt or expressed.

Because of this, cognitive work can only scratch the surface. It can bring clarity, but it cannot fully integrate the pain underneath.

What Somatic Trauma Healing Is

The work we do together is grounded in direct experience. Instead of analyzing your emotions, you learn to feel them in a way that is safe, contained, and natural. The body knows how to heal trauma when it is given the right environment and guidance. My role is to help you access that natural intelligence.

Through this work, you learn how to:

• Stay present with sensations and emotions without becoming overwhelmed

• Meet parts of yourself you have avoided or shut down

• Understand how your body communicates through feeling, contraction, and movement

• Allow emotional pain to unwind instead of staying trapped inside you

• Build a deeper trust in your own experience

• Experience change that doesn’t require effort, control, or constant management

It is about allowing what is already here to finally move.

Sessions are slow, spacious, and grounded in moment to moment experience. We are not trying to figure anything out. Instead, we pay attention to what is happening in your body and emotions and allow them to unfold at a pace that feels right.

Many clients describe this work as relieving, clarifying, and deeply healing. For a lot of people, it is the first time they feel truly met in the place where the pain lives.
